During the 2017 and 2018 nesting season I used a dual probe thermometer, designed to record maximum and minimum daily temperature from two locations. The typical use for this thermometer is to record inside a greenhouse and the outside temperature. For my purpose I recorded inside a ChirpyNest cavity and either outside air, inside a supergourd or inside a Troyer Horizontal gourd. The temperature probe was placed in identical positions during each time period of the readings. Most times the probe was suspended 2 inches above the nest surface in a vacant cavity, with either a pre-nest or a used nest.
